Allow Us to Introduce Ourselves....

This is the story of four days in the life of three men, ages 50, 50, and 24. We flew down to the MLS Combine in Fort Lauderdale, with visions of awesome soccer, So-Flo babes, and Beach Bars dancing in our heads.
So far we have gone to Hooters, drank cheap beers in a dive bar, and watched 1 and 1/2 soccer games in winter jackets and ponchos. Ahh well, all for love of the beautiful game.

To stay anonymous, and perhaps more interesting, we will go by the following aliases:

PieHead: a 24 year old fantasy football superstar, with a competitive edge and a reputation for brutal honesty
Brookside: a 50 year old father, who spent the majority of his early 30s doing "spirit fingers" while his daughters participated in cheerleading competitions. Now known for his love of soccer scouting, beach volleyball, and wearing two pairs of shorts at all times.
PencilPusher: a 50 year old practically famous basketball referee with a perfect nose and a head of hair that doesn't know the meaning of the word "receding".

We are not soccer experts. In fact, all together we have spent just about three seasons playing midget soccer, approximately 6 years coaching midget soccer, and maybe two years playing high school soccer (defense, in case you were wondering). However, we have been watching and studying the game since about 1992.

So read on... we will provide details that only those watching from the bleachers can see.
Rain won't stop us.
Coaches can't keep us out.
We refuse to rely solely on the media's perspective.
